Due to its small size and its adaptabilty in terms of water-conditions Scarlets are ideal aquarium fish. The temperature should vary periodically a day (18°C bis 25°C). As foods all common kinds of live and frozen foods are suitable.

Dario dayingensis

2,5 cm
In a retailer-tank D. dayingensis and D. hysginon are easy to confuse with, because they have nearly the same colour when frightened. The fish should be kept in a well structured aquarium from 50 litres, because the males are strongly territorial and relatively aggressive.

Dario hysginon
"Flame Red"
2,5 cm
Dario hysginon has turned out as highly adaptive to the water conditions as well. It is recommended to purchase a little group of six to eight specimens. You'll keep the fish best in aquariums from 50 litres capacity.
